Fabric fresheners are designed to lift tough lingering odours that are trapped in fabrics and in return leave a light and refreshing scent. You might be wondering why you should use them or whether they’re necessary to have. We’re here to explain how these fabric sprays work, what they can be used for and how they are more important than meets the eye.
Fabric sprays are a great alternative to washing clothing items that have been worn a couple of times but have managed to escape sweat, smells and stains and therefore don’t need to be washed quite yet.
One of the biggest problems the planet is facing right now is the popularity of fast fashion and mass garment waste. We could all do more to tackle this issue and that’s where fabric fresheners make a heroic entrance; using them reduces the amount of clothes you need to wash in a week and therefore gets you to stop over-washing your clothes with unnecessary loads.
Here at The Lab Co., we offer a full range of specialist fabric freshener sprays. Below we answer all of your most-asked questions.
WHAT DOES FABRIC FRESHENER DO?
Washing your clothes too frequently can impact their fit, feel and lifespan. Often, all your items need is a quick refresh and you're good to go... and that's exactly what our Signature Fabric Mist has been designed for.
The non-toxic formula eliminates bad odours for good without the need for harsh chemicals. Plus, our formula also helps to protect the fabric fibres of your clothing all in just a few quick sprays, meaning you can walk out the door in a matter of minutes looking and smelling fresh... no hand washing, or quick-wash cycle required!
HOW TO USE FABRIC FRESHENER:
It couldn’t be easier, in fact, it’s so simple to use that it doesn’t require a list of instructions!
Simply choose which fabric spray corresponds best with the fabric composition of the item you want to freshen up, shake the bottle well, and hold 10-20cm away from your chosen garments and make sure the nozzle is directed towards the target area. Spritz the item 2-3 times covering all areas, on the front and back. Leave to air out for a few minutes before wearing.
WHAT MATERIALS CAN I USE FABRIC FRESHENER ON?
*Always read the care label of any garment or home wear item before using products on them*
Our fabric sprays can be used on all textiles and materials that do not specify ‘specialist/dry cleaning only’ on the care label. Additionally, they are not limited to being used on clothing either! Use our mists to freshen any material item from curtains to cushions. However, for very densely composed items such as carpets or old upholstery we would recommend using a heavy-duty carpet or upholstery spray.
WHY SHOULD I USE FABRIC FRESHENER?
1. THEY’RE A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO DRY CLEANING.
Dry cleaning often requires a lot of energy and toxic chemical use. Fabric mists make a great alternative to the process. Refreshing your clothes with textile sprays will keep your clothes alive and out of the washing machine for longer.
2. POST-EXERCISE SAVIOUR.
Transporting workout clothes after a successful gym session can be unpleasant. Spray our Sports Fabric Mist on the areas of your workout wear prone to receive the most of your sweat in between laundry days to banish that B.O.
3. SUNSCREEN AND FRESH-SMELLING SWIMWEAR.
Headed on an action-packed holiday? Avoid bringing last year’s funky ocean smell along by giving all of your beach umbrellas, towels, camping chairs and swimwear items a pre-holiday spray down with our travel-sized signature fabric mist. Fancy a change of fragrance? Even though our sprays are formulated with ingredients specific for different fabrics, you can use them interchangeably should you fancy a switch up of the scent.
